In May 2022 Haltom City voters passed a bond election authorizing the construction of a new City Hall. The new building will be located just south of the Haltom City Public Library, at the corner of Glenview Dr. and Haltom Rd. The scheduled completion date of the new City Hall is August 2024. A groundbreaking was held on February 21, 2023.
City services that will be operating out of the new facility include:
- City Council meetings and offices
- City Administration
- Utility Billing
- Economic Development
- Emergency Management
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Municipal Court
- Information Technology
- Code Compliance
- Planning, Community Development & Permitting
The current City Hall facility was originally constructed 65 years ago, in 1957. Haltom City’s population has subsequently increased by over 100%, with an additional 5,000 to 6,000 more residents expected to relocate here within the next 5 years. A needs assessment, completed in 2013, showed the current City Hall no longer met industry standards in terms of space, functionality, and requirements set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The new facility will be built to comply with all ADA and code requirements, including installation of modern safety and energy standards.
